Position Purpose:

Provide enterprise-level leadership to drive progress towards the company’s strategic, operational, and financial goals and objectives. A dynamic, inspiring, strategic, and visionary leader to join our Finance function as the Vice President of Integrated Business Planning (IBP). In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A), sales and operations planning (S&OP), and integrated planning across the entire organization. You will play a pivotal role in aligning our business strategy with operational execution, ensuring financial discipline, and driving profitable growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of highly integrated planning processes: Design and optimize the IBP process across all business units, functions, and regions. Oversee the development of rolling forecasts, budgets, and scenario planning to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Facilitate executive leadership team (ELT) business processes and key decisions:
  • Prepare and present key financial data, forecasts, and scenarios to the ELT, ensuring they have the information needed for informed decision-making
  • Facilitate discussions and debates within the ELT, guiding them towards consensus and actionable conclusions on critical business issues
  • Anticipate potential challenges and opportunities, presenting relevant data and analysis to support informed risk management and strategic planning within the ELT
  • Translate ELT decisions into concrete action plans and ensure alignment across the organization
  • Track and report on the progress of key initiatives approved by the ELT, keeping them informed and accountable
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration: Foster collaboration between Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for IBP initiatives
  • Provide strategic financial insights: Translate financial data and forecasts into actionable insights for business leaders to inform strategic decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy: Implement robust data governance practices and ensure the quality and integrity of information used in planning processes
  • Optimize financial performance: Evaluate and recommend initiatives to improve profitability, cash flow, and working capital management
  • Promote and communicate the value of integrated planning: Build awareness and understanding of the IBP process and its benefits across the organization
  • Manage a high-performing team: Lead and develop a team of talented finance professionals to drive IBP success
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices: Continuously research and implement best-in-class IBP practices and technologies

Strategic Alignment:

  • Percentage of strategic initiatives aligned with IBP plans
  • Level of executive leadership satisfaction with IBP insights and support for decision-making
  • Timeliness and accuracy of strategic forecasts compared to actual results

Financial Performance:

  • Achievement of revenue, profitability, and cash flow targets aligned with IBP plans
  • Return on investment (ROI) of IBP initiatives
  • Improvement in key financial metrics (e.g., inventory turnover, working capital efficiency) linked to IBP efforts

Operational Efficiency:

  • Reduction in forecast error rates
  • Improvement in planning cycle times
  • Increase in cross-functional collaboration and alignment between departments

Team Development:

  • Employee engagement and satisfaction within the IBP team
  • Skills development and career progression opportunities provided to team members
  • Team's ability to adapt and respond to changing business conditions

Position Requirements: 

  • 15+ years of experience in Finance, with at least 7-10 years in leadership roles related to IBP, FP&A, or S&OP
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing IBP processes in a large, complex organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; an MBA is a plus
  • Experience working in a consumer goods industry is preferred

  • Finance: Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management principles
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP): In-depth knowledge of IBP frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
  • Consumer Goods Industry: Knowledge of the specific dynamics, trends, and challenges of the consumer goods industry (if applicable)
  • Technology: Familiarity with data analytics tools, visualization software, and collaborative platforms used in IBP processes
  • Regulations: Awareness of relevant financial reporting and governance regulations

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and translate business strategy into operational plans
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Skillful in analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions to business challenges
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to present information effectively and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Leadership & Team Management: Ability to motivate, develop, and lead a high-performing IBP team
  • Change Management: Expertise in driving organizational change and adoption of new processes and technologies
  • Negotiation & Influence: Skillful in negotiation and influencing others to gain buy-in for IBP initiatives
