Position Summary

The Salvation Army Booth Brown House Program Manager - Foyer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foyer housing program. The Foyer program is a 35-unit, site-based, affordable housing program providing supportive services and resources to youth between the ages of 16 and 24 as they transition to independence.

The Program Manager focuses on managing person-centered, holistic programming, supportive services, resource development for youth, and the supervision of the case management and youth advocate staff. The Program Manager also collaborates with fellow BBH leadership on compliance; property management; collaboration between programs; and staff hiring, on-boarding, and on-going training

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)

  • Supervise programming, case management, additional supportive services, and staffing, ensuring a welcoming, affirming, holistic, person-centered environment. (60%)
  • Assist with compliance, fiscal responsibility, and reporting including licensing, regulations, grants, budget development, and contracts. (15%)
  • Collaborate with fellow leadership on program development, implementation, and assessment. (10%)
  • Engage in internal and external activities to promote and further The Salvation Army and BBH goals and objectives. (5%)
  • Ensure up-to-date, accurate participant information is maintained in casefiles and through database entry. (5%)
  • Assist with seasonal/special events and social media/marketing. (5%)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. In lieu of degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.
  • Previous relevant experience required; experience may include employment, volunteering, and lived experience.
  • Previous staff supervision highly preferred.
  • Must pass background checks, (e.g., Salvation Army and Department of Human Services).
  • Valid driver’s license and meet MVR driver’s qualifications, preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; especially with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong knowledge of local social and community services.
  • Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
  • High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
  • Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve and take initiative.

Working Conditions

  • Variety of work, sitting approximately 50% of the time with some prolonged standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds.
  • Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must be able to drive, sit, communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and training directly to assigned Case Managers and Advocates.
  • Also, provides support to other Case Managers and Advocates as needed.
  • Make employment recommendations to the Senior Program Director.

Full time, $55,563 - $63,410 annually
