The MGH Institute of Health Professions is seeking candidates for its term lecturer faculty positions in the following programs:

  • Communications Sciences & Disorders
  • Genetic Counseling
  • Health Professions Education
  • Healthcare Administration & Data Analytics
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Physician Assistant Studies
  • Rehabilitation Sciences
  • Healthcare Leadership
  • Audiology
  • Nursing

Term Lecturers are hired on a semester-by-semester basis dependent upon student need. Term Lecturers will typically teach between 3-9 credits per semester, dependent upon program need, in various formats (ex. classroom settings, labs, simulation spaces, at clinical sites). Term Lecturers hired into these roles will possess one of following titles: Term Lecturer, Course Developer, Facilitator, Laboratory Instructor, Simulation Coordinator, Site Clinical Instructor, Teaching Fellow, Clinical Oversight Instructor, or Project Mentor. Specific qualifications and duties are dependent upon the role.

This position is continuously active to capture active term lecturer candidates for all of the roles described above.

MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers. In general, all term lecturers should meet the following education and experience requirements:

  • Advanced and/or Terminal degree required
  • Previous clinical experience in programs where applicable
  • Active license to practice in subject matter in programs requiring professional licensure 
  • Commitment to graduate student success
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration, staff, patients, and external constituents)
