Position Summary:

The End User Computing (EUC) Senior IT Engineer will be a key member of the global function, based out of our Bangalore office reporting to the IT Manager, End User Services.

With the launch of Illumina’s new office, customer solutions center and forecast growth in India we are looking to hire a senior engineer to build the IT End User Computing operations team from the ground-up. 

In this role, you will be required to analyze computer networks, develop, and implement repairs, modifications, and upgrades, and diagnose and resolve system errors or technical issues. This senior level, technical engineering role focuses on all aspects of management of these platforms and developing solutions to support business requirements.

Responsibilities include providing engineering level 3/4 support and administration of the infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, and support of application and desktop platforms and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Individual will be an important member of the Global IT End User Computing team with collective accountability to availability & performance.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to be agile and pivot frequently with rapid changes in business & functional demand.
  • Strong experience utilizing scripting and/or programming languages such as Bash, and PowerShell to automate processes and manage system configuration.
  • Coordinate and implement the installation of client and department specific applications and systems. Includes creation, management, and sustainment of software deployment packages & operating systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex end user endpoint issues within the enterprise environment triaged from other teams.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory with implementing/troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and configuration policies.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management such as Intune.
  • Familiarity with Service Now and Integration.
  • Collaborates with team and other cross-functional teams (EUS, Lab IT, Information Security) in information technology and infrastructure projects.
  • A key member of a global project team that offers expertise.
  • Participates in follow-the-sun on call rotation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in SCCM and Intune administration.
  • Advanced proficiency in Active Directory and Azure environment including OS provisioning, software packaging, image management, and working with GPOs and configuration profiles.
  • Significant experience developing and managing desktop operating systems (all versions)
  • Strong experience with Windows Server.
  • Strong skills with scripting automation such as PowerShell.
  • Knowledge in database management such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with the following would be beneficial.
  • Linux such as CentOS/RedHat.
  • JAMF Apple Management.
  • AWS Workspaces, Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Well presented with an excellent customer service approach.
  • Experience working and operating within an ITIL framework with SLA management & continuous improvement as a central focal point.
  • Articulate and persuasive oral and written communications skills.
