Job Purpose and Impact

The Mechanical Asset Integrity Inspector will provide full knowledge of industry practices and technical expertise to lead the asset integrity strategy and culture on building the foundational elements of the asset integrity model and to enhance the interaction between site and regional functions. In this role, you will guide, train and support the site stakeholders on the asset integrity model to ensure continuous improvement in the productivity of the organization's physical assets, deployment of the asset integrity program and alignment to the site continuity plan. You will coordinate actions to ensure site license to operate by adhering to legal compliance requirements. You will provide M&R insight and integrity analysis to enable other functional areas to focus on opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify emerging license needs and complex assets integrity issues to comply with legal requirements and the organization's asset integrity program and strategy and ensure smooth integration of the organization's asset integrity model.
  • Lead cost and budget process to provide asset condition information and comply with business continuity requirements.
  • Be the first point of contact to inspection companies and authorities and lead the inspection process and documentation on site including the selection of inspection companies.
  • Apply in depth knowledge to evaluate and analyze inspection and integrity reports to develop action plans, continuous improvement opportunities and eliminate bad actors.
  • Develop plans and oversee and evaluate the construction and installation of new build equipment.
  • Develop standards, leading practices and assets inspection plans to add business value and efficiency.
  • Guide the team on the asset integrity model.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant inspection areas at complex sites. 
  • Certification for the most common NDT technologies and methods.
  • Strong knowledge of Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEPS) like NBIC, ASME, ASNT, API, PED, EN-codes, GHOST, AS/NZS.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of M&R processes, metrics, practices and tools/systems.
  • Experience working in multi-functional team environments.
  • Proven knowledge of national codes and regulations related to mechanical equipment.
  • Proven knowledge of NDE technologies (UT, RT, MPI, DPT) for mechanical assets.
  • Knowledge in plant operations and maintenance (chemical or semi-chemical facilities).
  • Understanding of precision maintenance techniques and predictive technologies.
  • Experience in management of scheduled inspections.
