Overview

  • This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** 

Report directly to the Armament Systems Supervisor. Troubleshoots, and repairs, electronic and communication equipment, components, and systems according to instructions. The maintenance performed ranges from operator level thru limited general support including the installation, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of VIC 1 and VIC 3 inter vehicular communication systems and associated equipment and performs Patriot Missile System M901 Launcher Quarterly Services, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic and communication equipment, components, and systems in accordance with Technical Manual Processes, Procedures and Instructions. The maintenance performed ranges from operator level thru limited direct support including servicing, troubleshooting and repair of the M901 Launcher and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Performs Direct Support level maintenance on the PATRIOT Information and Coordination Central, Engagement Control Station, Radar Set, Antenna Mast Group, Launching Station and Communications Relay Group.
  • Performs tests and adjusts components to specific tolerances and determines shortcomings and malfunctions in electronic assemblies, subassemblies, modules and circuit elements with common and system peculiar test equipment.
  • Isolates malfunctions using automatic and semi-automatic program maintenance diagnostic software, unit self test and built in test equipment.
  • Work with specialized computer software tests to evaluate suspected faults. Isolates system interface malfunctions.
  • Determines serviceability and disposition of defective assemblies, subassemblies, modules and circuit elements.
  • Repairs unserviceable items by removing and replacing defective components.
  • Operates and performs unit level maintenance on standard and system peculiar test equipment.
  • Complete all supply and maintenance forms as required.
  • Operate MEP-814 Generator.
  • PMCS the M983, M860, and MEP-814 on the system.
  • Provides technical guidance to co-workers in the performance of their duties. Performs initial, in process and final type inspections of designated system items and their assemblies, subassemblies, modules and circuit elements. Performs as maintenance technical inspector.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have held the MOS of 94S E-6 or above or equivalent civilian experience Must be able to repair fiber optic cable.
  • Ability to obtain host country driver’s license.
  • Must be Secret Clearance eligible and/or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Experience
  • Three years’ experience in servicing, troubleshooting and repair of M901 Launcher at the -30 level.
  • Skills
  • MS Office suite expertise is required as well as excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English as exemplified in writing and in verbal skills.
  • Must be able to work independent and as a team member.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Heavy work.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies
