Job Description

Reports to: Growth Marketing Director

Description: The Marketing Strategist will lead a full range of editorial, communications, and messaging projects related to our content and digital/social media efforts, including marketing for both prospects and customers. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications and content marketing and be well-versed in content development, with experience in channel optimization, lead nurturing, storytelling, segmentation, analytics, and meaningful measurement.

The Marketing Strategist will collect, analyze, and report data insights regularly about email and social media analytics in partnership with the digital marketing team to inform strategy and content development. They will help optimize campaigns based on content marketing best practices, ongoing campaign performance data, and A/B testing. Finally, with support of the Growth Marketing Director, they will develop, implement, and communicate marketing content calendars that cover the various segments supported under growth marketing.

Job Responsibilities

primary and additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborate on and execute the content marketing strategy to support growth initiatives for key stakeholders, including clients, customers, suppliers, prospects, and internal teams
  • Manage the design and execution of integrated content marketing communications plans, particularly using owned and earned channels (blog, email, social media, video)
  • Develop content in collaboration with Growth Marketing Director for nurture campaigns, and growth marketing initiatives, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), to support the sales funnel and segment/vertical marketing initiatives
  • Manage development of content for both print and digital communications, work with internal and external content contributors and writers, and repurpose global supply chain content for use in North America and other geographies 
  • Support video strategy and digital platform for user generated content, podcasts, webinars
  • Produce compelling content for brochures and collateral, help manage supplier lists
  • Review Avendra’s content assets in collaboration with Brand Marketing team, ensuring they capture our brand guidelines, mission and vision 
  • Support the Growth Marketing Team with conference and association support, vertical and segment marketing tactics and sales enablement tools and messaging
  • Develop, implement, and communicate marketing editorial calendars which cover the various segments supported under Growth Marketing
  • Manage centralized repository for Marketing Collateral for internal audiences
  • Leverage technology solutions to deliver communication results: Email Service Provider/Marketing Automation solution (HubSpot), CRM, Marketing Analytics (Adobe), surveys (Qualtrics), etc.
  • Lead the marketing analytics function for content marketing and use findings to make suggestions and updates to communications and processes that help improve performance metrics.
  • In partnership with Digital Marketing team, optimize content according to SEO while leveraging content management systems to analyze website traffic, optimize social media campaigns and improve engagement metrics

Qualifications

qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellent communication and writing skills (e.g. ideation, proofreading, presenting)
  • Ability to think creatively, find new solutions to business problems
  • Solid project management skills – detail oriented and capable of managing multiple projects 
  • Graphic design experience is a plus, familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
  • Good technical skills with the ability to grasp new technology systems easily
  • Experience with email service providers (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.)
  • Proficient use of MS Office applications
  • Data-driven, results-oriented
  • Ability to work with a wide range of audiences in a professional manner
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B marketing, content development, creative marketing, public relations, or communications, preferably in the hospitality or supply chain industry.
  • BS/BA in relevant field i.e., marketing, communications, public relations, journalism.
