What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fiscal Services

Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223

Work Days and hours would vary between Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm depending on student’s schedule

This position is year-round, working up to a maximum of 20 hours a week (or less). This is NOT a semester long internship.

Major/field of study should be in Finance, Business, or Economics

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain purchase order mailbox and distribute purchase orders
  • Run daily business intelligence reports such as the payment card aging report
  • Log voucher descriptions for forfeiture funds
  • Prepare Crime Lab monthly billings
  • Assist with calls to vendors for invoices or gather information for checks received
  • Track daily payroll and conduct an audit review of accounts receivable invoices prior to supervisory review and approval
  • Assist the section with administrative duties related to large scale personnel deployments should they arise
  • Assist with administrative duties related to the Traffic Records Coordinating Committee (TRCC) Grant

Qualifications

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, as verified via official or unofficial transcript or letter on letterhead from the Registrar's office confirming enrollment
  • Be in good standing with the college/university
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0
  • Be enrolled in at least one course
  • Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree
