Operations Manager, Emergency Lighting Germany is responsible for Operations with full accountability of running the day-to-day Operation for our emergency lighting business unit in Germany and to overachieve customer expectations through lean, faultless operational execution (Care, Customer, Cost, Cash), in an extended value chain and at the lowest total cost. Reporting to the Global Operations Manager, the Operations Manager – Emergency Lighting – Germany is responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing, and controlling the overall operational activities. With relevant experience in the industry, the Operations Manager ensures the necessary activities and manages projects related to processes planning in order to optimize the use of resources and ensure achievement of overall objectives. The Operations Manager uses strong leadership and mobilization skills to lead the team and promote the development and implementation of a culture that allows continuous optimization of processes, and therefore, improve plant performance in the health and safety, quality, procurement, service and productivity.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible to execute a customer focused Operations strategy derived from the overall business and functional strategy developed for the Emergency Lighting Business Unit and accountable for its relentless execution.
  • Owns and is accountable to deliver KPIs in line with ABB and business unit expectations including delivery of on-time/on-margin management of operations.
  • Accountable to ensure a safe work environment and continuous improvement in HSE processes and integrity performance. Responsible to implement and sponsor Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and all other business compliance standards and regulations across all functions.
  • Accountable to define and deliver the annual budgets for CapEx, OpEx expenses and cost savings.
  • Accountable to build an effective, agile, capable, and high-performing organization. Responsible to develop talent, review organizational effectiveness, performing competence assessments and continuous skill-upgrades.
  • Responsible to champion a culture of Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement across the organization.
  • Responsible for procurement and logistics functions.
  • Accountable to ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules, policies, and procedures related to Operations.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience in the electrical and electronic manufacturing fields
  • Knowledge of various principles; "lean manufacturing", "lean office", "6 Sigma", flow of materials and components, information management, etc.
  • Sense of leadership, respect, integrity
  • In-Depth knowledge of German regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to work under pressure
  • Communication skills, German and English, spoken and written
