Your Responsibilities:

High Performance Organization, Intelligent Devices

  • In a fast changing and increasingly complex product development environment, all strategies related to processes such as portfolio management, project management, Idea to offer, Requirements management, Life cycle management etc. tie together and quality of execution continues to be critical in this journey. The High Performance Organization (HPO) is focused on how we define, develop, support, and deliver value to our businesses and improve our capabilities/ processes and tools and impact Thruput, Quality and Predictability of our product development teams. Our philosophy, practice, and tools are rooted in continuous improvement and transformational change management practices.We need team members to be versatile and passionate to tackle new problems as we continue to push quality and technology forward. The ideal individual will be able to ramp up quickly in a high-performance organization and will be driving Product Lifecycle Management transformation to accelerate model based product development.
  • Sr Mgr, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)The product lifecycle refers to the progression of a product through its typical 4 stages (introduction, growth, maturity, and decline) as well as more complex processes that occur within these stages such as inception, design, engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing and distribution. PLM is what helps to manage that lifecycle by aligning people, data, processes, and technology to seamlessly bring the product to market. The Sr Mgr, PLM, will be focusing on 3 areas, HPO PLM Initiatives leader, Enterprise PLM Product Owner, and Functional Manager of HPO PLM.
  • HPO PLM Initiatives Leader:· Strategic Leader that coordinates with Industry partners, Subject Matter Experts and various stakeholders to identify value creation, gather requirements, and define the road map and implementation plan for Product Lifecycle Management systems (Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Simulation, Model based product development)· Accountable for Global deployment of the solutions ensuring compliance of solution designs with specifications, role expectations and creating/maintaining technical documentation.· Collaborate with team members and external consultants for configuration, functionality, customization, integration, training, data migration, deployment, support.· Collaborate with internal/ external partners to drive effective use of the PLM platforms as the standard application for defined processes.· Ensure service availability and security & compliance of the owned solutions in cooperation with the respective team of experts.· Set up governance and drive global business process ownership for all PLM processes.· Lead the core function that manages transformation and fostering the adoption of the platforms by sponsoring business readiness leadership methods, supporting the internal customers, by strong organizational change management methods.· Lead the governance and prioritization of data readiness, migration, and support. Conduct assessment, coordinate the data readiness needs for PLM migration, data cleansing, and data sync post launch on a periodic basis.· Support coordinating the assessment and the integration of any tools and services in the Applications Landscape with the PLM system and solutions.· Build and maintain critical relationships with the Engineering groups’ leaders and stakeholders, ensuring they are kept aware of the evolving PLM product roadmap and its execution · Enable/Lead ongoing delivery status updates, reporting on key performance indicators, trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Enterprise PLM Product Owner:· Collaborate with RA IT’s centralized PLM team, ensuring ongoing alignment of vision, strategy and delivery.· Develop and effectively manage a prioritized backlog, empowering effective Agile planning, execution, review with the IT development team for SAP PLM functionality and Enterprise Design Application Services (DAS).· Drive alignment within the diverse engineering teams (mechanical/electrical hardware, engineered to order, quality, project financial management, environmental compliance, supply chain consumers), eliciting their PLM needs and leveraging Intake requests to establish program increment objectives for the IT PLM team.· Effectively scan the horizon for associated risks to delivery and work cross functionality to develop appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans.· Support and maintain an atmosphere of continuous improvement and strong team dynamics, ensuring team members feel safe to experiment and iterate to solve new and evolving technical challenges· Engage architects to understand new feature feasibility, architectural direction, and initial sizing estimates.· Present recommendations to sponsors for concurrence based on team input, showing tradeoffs between application capabilities, effort, schedule, and cost.· Provide input to the Program Increment (PI) planning context, PI objective definition including business value, Feature acceptance criteria. · Accept work as done by verifying acceptance criteria are met, and that the work fulfills the team's Definition of Done. Assess business value delivered for each PI Objective.· Collaborate directly with other Product Owners to coordinate inter-team and inter-train dependencies.· Communicate with and provide information to partners regarding work sequence, risks and mitigation options, and effect of scope changes. 
  • Functional Manager, HPO, PLM :· Continue to evolve the PLM department to be a function which enables enterprise quality & productivity.· Build a team with the right talent to best meet the needs in areas of program deployment, data integrity, collaboration with IT, readiness across BUs and ISC.· Encourage modern and creative thinking, leverage new approaches in a rapidly changing environment.· Develop an annual operating financial plan for the PLM space (including but not limited to Windchill, CAD, Simulation, Licenses, Partners, IT, etc.) and monitor progress to forecast and adjust plans as the year evolves.· Ensure onboarding, goal setting, performance reviews, career planning are conducted on a regular basis for team members and constantly create a high performing environment for all through empowered teams.· Enable & deliver status updates on key programs to stakeholders with recommendations and risk mitigation ideas.
  • You will work from our Milwaukee or Mequon office in a hybrid environment. You will report to the Director, Business Process and Tools.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, with MS-Engineering, MBA 
  • 8+ years of experience in Engineering, preferably with experience in hardware product development, Product Lifecycle management and enterprise ERP deployment· 
  • In-depth experience with PLM and Engineering transformation and process redesign methods· 
  • Knowledge of existing, new, and emerging technologies and being able to practically apply them to PLM and Engineering operations.· 
  • Knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing end-to-end hardware product development business processes, functions and organizational structures.· 
  • Demonstrated history of establishing a strong rapport and trusted advisory relationship with senior management.· 
  • Demonstrated breadth and in-depth knowledge as program manager (PMP), Safe Agilist, including product owner role and agile project delivery methodologies.· 
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate in a complex environment and effectively influence a diverse team of stakeholders and business leaders.· 
  • 5+ years of experience managing product life cycle/PLM system type projects· 
  • 3+ years experience integrating, configuring and managing PLM software· 
  • Ability to navigate and utilize the capabilities of PLM software, CAD and Engineering Simulation applications.· 
  • Experience leading and collaborating on projects with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain.· 
  • Ability to build and manage strong vendor relationships.· 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to make well-judged decisions in often ambiguous situations.· 
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.· 
  • Experience with following platforms is an asset: SAP, PLM software such as Windchill, CREO, AutoDesk, EPLAN, ANSYS, Mathworks, Siemens Mentor, etc.· 
  • Experience in driving mCAD and eCAD maturity standards set up thru working groups, communities of practice methods etc.· 
  • Business strategy development and product business experience also a plus· 
  • Knowledge of application hosting platforms including AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud.· 
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.· 
  • Strong relationship skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various functional groups and peer business units.· 
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed team across cultures to achieve business objectives. 
  • The ability to exercise discretion when interacting with senior executives and when dealing with restricted information with the strictest confidence.· 
  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization where influence and collaboration skills are as important as direct management skills.· 
  • High versatility in social styles to work effectively with leaders at all levels.· 
  • A balanced temperament to help drive consensus across multiple stakeholders with a diverse range of objectives.· 
  • Strategic and problem-solving skills; capable of understanding the big picture, anticipating business needs, and removing barriers to execution.· 
  • Strong project/program management acumen balanced with the ability to execute tactically.· 
  • Demonstrated history of building, managing, leading, and mentoring exceptional teams.· 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and compelling presentation skills which are necessary to articulate issues, educate and persuade an audience.· 
  • A track record of cultural sensitivity to work across globally diverse teams and settings. · 
  • A willingness to accept the intellectual bandwidth and flexibility to operate across a very wide spectrum of topics, disciplines, and issues simultaneously.
