Job Summary

This Position Is Responsible for Identifying, Developing And Executing Procurement / Sourcing Strategies For The Most Cost Effective Pricing And Best Services with vendors for Professional Services category: (Management Consulting, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Travel, Audit, Information Security, Research). Senior Analyst will also be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders, managing escalations, understanding Business pipeline and forecast and providing a strategic plan for streamlining vendors while becoming a Subject Matter Expert for the appointed category. Training And Mentoring Junior Team Members and Implementing the Identified Opportunities Directly Alongside Senior Management

Analyst is responsible for leading and supporting the design and implementation of strategic sourcing activities (RFPs, RFIs, Market Scans, Category Management) for appointed category; participating in the strategic sourcing process by partnering with Business stakeholders to define specifications and requirements, leading, conducting internal and external data & pricing analysis, and providing recommendations based on analysis. Senior Analyst should be able to independently analyze Industry Markets And assess risk, gather intelligence on fundamental conditions, and technical Information that affects the category. Senior Analyst will also be responsible for contract negotiations and contract compliance. Senior Analyst are expected to have excellent project management, organization, and time efficiency skills as they will be managing several sourcing projects and contracts at a given time along with multiple vendors and internal stakeholders. Senior Analyst should be able to identify and develop cost reduction opportunities while maximizing benefit to the business.

Senior Analyst should be comfortable speaking and delivering PowerPoint presentations to internal business teams for projects / RFx’s as well as having excellent business acumen.

As a Senior Analyst you will gain a vast knowledge of the inner workings and operations for one of the largest healthcare plans in North America. Successful candidates should have a strong desire of learning about the healthcare industry.

Sourcing:

 Leads the design and implementation of strategic sourcing activities by partnering with internal users to define requirements and conducting external market analysis, assessing risk, gathering intelligence on fundamental conditions and technical information that affects the product/service.

 Leads the RFP process including (the bid process, negotiation process, analyzing supplier responses etc).

 Leads the negotiation process by analyzing and assessing supplier responses. Makes recommendations on supplier negotiation strategy.

 Research fact-based inquiries during the sourcing strategy development process.

 Contributes recommendations to sourcing strategy development.

 Develops, scores portions, and assesses responses from RFPs

Contracting:

 Serves as a lead in the contract and award process, negotiating the contract to completion with all applicable and necessary terms.

 Serves as the lead in the implementation and transition process of new agreements. Develop and lead portions of work/implementation project plans.

 Reviews contracts, pricing, purchase orders, and service levels agreements.

 Maintain web-based procurement tool Contracting Process.

 Manage the review and approval of contracts in accordance with Execution of Instruments Policy and other corporate policies.

Category Management / Analytics:

 Prepares reports, performs analysis and tracks benchmarking of category spend.

 Serves as a lead to collect and analyze data from disparate sources, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations to management on aspects of the sourcing strategy process.

 Independently gathers and synthesized third party (secondary) research.

 Creates and maintains category spending and pricing databases.

 Performs value analysis and total cost of ownership analytical activities.

Communication / Professionalism / Other Projects:

 Communicate and interact effectively (oral and written) and professionally with co-workers, management, suppliers, customers, etc.

 Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

 Serves as support in the continuous improvement in the procurement organization and in the other areas of the organization related to procurement.

 Serves as the support for the development and documentation of strategic sourcing policies and procedures.

 Leads strategic projects as necessary that add value to the organization

 Serves as a leader for new hires within Procurement and helps train them

Required Job Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Business or Finance, in leu of degree 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated thought leadership
  • Ability to build strategic relationship with senior-level colleagues
  • Experience with conducting wide-ranging research.
  • Analytical skills to support and enhance procurement strategy and goals.
  • Ability to function in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations.
  • Clear, concise, and confident interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and skills to participate and be effective in contract negotiations with industry suppliers.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing principles.
  • Experience in project management and contract negotiation.
  • Experience developing presentations and presenting to management and other internal groups.
  • Effective Negotiating skills to reduce supplier base and to negotiate beneficial contracts
  • Clear, concise, and confident interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective, proven negotiation skills, experience rationalizing supplier base and negotiating beneficial contracts.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices
  • PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of analytical experience in a procurement, supply chain, or financial environment.
  • Knowledge of HCSC organization.
  • Knowledge of Professional Services categories
  • Knowledge of Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Category Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management
  • Experience in a procurement function, including with contract management activities
  • Strong relationship management capabilities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong Drive and interpersonal skills to manage multiple escalations internally/externally
  • 3-6 years of experience with Indirect Procurement categories
  • Can perform in a resourceful manner.
  • Problem solver
