Senior Financial Analyst (f/m/d)

A great opportunity exists for a sharp Finance professional to play a key role in driving the financial success of the Applied Analytical Technologies Business Unit within the Chromatography & Mass Spec Division (CMD). The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing analytics on bookings, revenue and gross margin, as well as providing business partnering support to functional leaders. The position reports to the Senior Finance Manager and works closely with the business unit leadership team.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to the analytical process to drive impactful business decisions based on key performance indicators for a Strategic Business Unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Coordination, completion and review of month-end-close process and post close reporting cycles.
  • Understand and refine forecasting of risks and opportunities, as well as identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional business teams at various sites to manage backlog execution.
  • Leadership, preparation and presentation of the Annual Operating Plan process.
  • Provide business intelligence on business unit performance, opportunities and challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting
  • Perform or lead special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as needed
  • Establish credibility and act as a trusted business partner for functional leads

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant.
  • Minimum of 5 years of FP&A experience preferably in a Shared Service Center environment.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, internal control and technical accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to identify and foster efficiency improvements and process standardization.
  • Ability to acquire operational agreement with easy to understand analysis and presentations and engage in communication at the executive level.
  • Confirmed history of working cross functionally, self-motivated, as well as the ability to build organizational relationships with customers, peers and operating partners in different time-zones.
  • Structured approach with ability to work optimally in a dynamic environment and handle different priorities. Ability to meet short deadlines, especially during Q-end close.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner.
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required; skills with SAP, HFM and Power BI are preferred.
  • Excellent English proficiency.
