The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Purchasing & Inventory Manager role will make an impact:

  • Ensure that the various PPIC business processes are compliant and meet the requirements of EHS/Quality/GDP/ Waste Disposal / Dangerous Goods Shipping / Known Consignor Status.
  • Optimize the use of SAP GEP and Rapid Response in support of meeting plant goals and gaining scheduling efficiencies for Customer Service/Inventory/Schedule Integration
  • Maximize Customer Service (Pharma & Medical Devices) by aligning S&OP / customer orders / project launch dates / API /Manufacturing Schedule / Packaging Schedule / Batch Release Plan / Shipping Schedule (sea & air)
  • Purchasing (Inventory & Non-Inventory) - ensure that components are available for manufacturing and packaging / Liaise with various Sourcing groups to gain site benefits and ensure site feedback / Resolve mismatches between PO, Invoice and GRN
  • Warehouse - Monitor Capacity Utilization and feedback any issues to the stakeholders.
  • Customer Service - Ensure that any blocked (Finance, Quality) shipments are addressed.
  • Inventory Management & Control
  • Inventory planning: set Inventory targets in line with Senior Management guidance, monitor actuals and action variances to plan.
  • Inventory control: manage E&O. and ensure that inventory accuracy and control (labelling and segregation) is maintained.
  • Ensure Customs & Trade Compliance
  • Classification (HTS) of imported and exported goods.
  • Submit a reconciled Inward Processing report each month. Clarify or escalate any internal or external importation/classification query.
  • Reconcile the 3rd Party API Inventory each month.
  • Ensure correct SAP Base Data maintenance (SAP MDM)
  • Oversight of action items of the various stakeholders
  • Manage and develop the PPIC team to ensure plant goals are met and drive efficiency and performance through a Continuous Improvement focus.
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration, APICS qualified with 10 years of applicable experience and at least 5 years management experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 
  • IT and ERP systems experience with stock control & PO elements, and the ability to develop and implement improved processes and procedures
  • Experience of sourcing and purchasing goods for the pharmaceutical sector is desirable but not essential
  • Position will directly supervise at least 5 employees and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Track record of showing how results were delivered through management/leadership of others.
  • Capability to set clear goals, communicate these clearly and ensure progress to completion meeting predefined targets.
  • Management of resources and budgets
  • Development and training of team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
