Operation Manager

You will be working as Operation Manager and will be part of Motion Business Area for Traction Division based in Vadodara, India. In this role you will be reporting to Local Product Group Manager and will be responsible to ensure the speed and timely delivery of motors on time consistently. Ensuring that we have medium- and long-term capabilities to meet the customer delivery requirements. Assessing risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety.

Your responsibilities

  • Proactively working together with the production manager to meet the new order requirements more like the long-term objectives and business targets
  • Responsible for safety & 5S for entire operations. Maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while monitoring and reporting progress and results
  • Supporting sales during risk review activities w.r.t factory capacity, resources other challenges, etc. Ensuring that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed
  • Ensuring that 6Sigma Program (the standard ABB process improvement methodology) training and methods are implemented into the organization. In the long run, establish the organization of quality and process development
  • Initiating CI projects in the tool and take the ownership of timely completion of projects. Developing and executing plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates
  • Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout operations
  • Ensuring booking of actual costs in SAP against each sale order is correctly done. Responsible for the cost variance between order booking and actual execution cost for every sale order

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 15 to 20 years of operation experience handling complete factory operations preferably from motor industries
  • People skills and competence matrix to build up competence in traction motor operations is a must
  • Good knowledge in IRIS certification for traction motor manufacturing
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive work environment for the company
