Description

Product Engineer evaluates, develops, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards. The aim is to achieve the most efficient, cost-effective, high-quality production process. The Product Engineer processes and manages custom orders and provides technical assistance to Manufacturing and Technical Sales. This position also coordinates and optimizes manufacturing processes with regard to design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance.

Salary Range: $75,000- $85,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and Prepare Job Packages with required manufacturing documentation, boms, routings and detailed drawings
  • Assumes complete process ownership of assigned Product Group.
  • Assist with day-to-day production line matters
  • Provide technical expertise and support to Production and PGS (Product Group Sales)
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production and provide solutions
  • Assist with custom quote/manufacturing costing preparation
  • Assist with corrective action, Engineering Change Requests and Notifications
  • Assist NPD Engineers with New Product Development projects and Testing
  • Work with new product development and engineering technology teams to implement or create new applications designed to increase business efficiency in Engineering, manufacturing, and sales.
  • Works with Operational Excellence to optimize and maintain efficient manufacturing processes
  • Participates in Product Development projects.
  • Manages quote program preparation.
  • Prepares Green Road Documents (SWI's, PFD's, Control Plans etc.)
  • Has complete product knowledge and can provide full technical support for specific Product Group
  • Participates in CFT meetings related to the manufacturing issues in area of responsibility.

Desired, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • knowledge in Engineering, Technologies and Systems, Manufacturing Processes, CAD and ERP.
  • knowledge of machinery, tools and dies to find the “right tool for the job” to maximize efficiency
  • 3+ years’ experience in Industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in CAD software (Autodesk Autocad and Inventor or Solidworks a plus)
  • Experience with Inventor iLogic a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or SAP a plus)
  • Coding Experience a plus (Languages: C#, python, javascript, node.js, html, css, vb.net, vba)
