About the Role:

The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments grow and retain our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies, and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.

The Senior Business Operations Manager, Marketing, could teach a master class in business planning, optimized processes, and team communication. Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and joining the Marketing Leadership Team, this person will work across the Marketing organization to enable and drive effective business operations through an efficient rhythm of business, organized campaign management from development to measurement, and durable business processes. 

This leader can think about the business like a general manager, drive forward cross-functional projects like a program manager, and understand how to speak to our customers like a seasoned marketer. In partnership with leaders across marketing, this person will own the planning, management, and reporting for omnichannel campaigns. This person will also lead the marketing team’s yearly planning process, develop processes and systems to help the marketing organization scale, and serve as the main point of connection between marketing and other teams within PitchBook.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced operations manager who demonstrates a blend of strategy, planning, business management, communications, program management skills, and executive judgment. They can help develop and translate strategic plans while also having a penchant for tiny and vital details – all to support the advancement, unification, and maintenance of efforts across the marketing team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Define, build, and own operations of programs that span multiple areas across the marketing team
  • Define scalable processes and frameworks that can be leveraged by multiple cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Ensure collaboration across the marketing team to advance our strategic priorities and ensure business results are delivered
  • Lead the Marketing team’s yearly planning process
  • Drive efficiency in campaign and program management across multi-functional team structure
  • Manage and refine processes, tools, and systems that support efficient workflow and effective communication
  • Work closely with the analytics teams to measure and understand the impact of projects; devise recommendations for refinement to develop best practices from your learnings
  • Provide guidance and leadership to project management professionals in the marketing organization
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7-10 years of experience in business operations, project management, or program management, ideally with marketing-related programs
  • Strong project management skills to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment
  • Experience using project planning and management software, such as Asana, Wrike, or Trello
  • Knowledge of integrated campaign development and go-to-market
  • Experience across multiple areas of marketing, including some combination of campaigns, digital, communications, partnerships, events, brand, and product
  • Proven collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills in all mediums and across all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects; enjoy working in and stewarding efforts across a fast-paced and matrixed company
  • Experience balancing big picture thinking combined with attention to detail and a focus on execution and results
  • Ability to embrace and effectively navigate change
  • Capable of learning new technologies, industries, and business processes quickly
  • Knowledge of private equity, venture capital, and M&A is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $120,000-$205,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 15%
  • Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location. 

Working Conditions:

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
