About the role

We are looking for a Bilingual (FR-ENG) Senior Software Developer / Test Automation Developer to join our growing team!

What you’ll do:

As a software developer:

  • Perform analyses of system and coding needs to identify the problems encountered and propose solutions including program specifications.
  • Develop system specifications, code, modify, test and debug computer programs under general supervision, in accordance with established planning and deadlines.
  • Master the technical and business features of the system to be able to explain them to other colleagues, while interacting effectively with users.
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications / software components.
  • Organize and manage production sessions.
  • Ensure the design and modeling of programmatic solutions for complex problems achieving documented functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Review design as part of deliverables (Code and Design Quality).
  • Develop and support complex components.
  • Support and guide the project team in development activities to ensure the quality of the code delivered while meeting project deadlines.
  • Write unit and integration tests for each function in which development is required.
  • Participate in the implementation of regression testing strategies to improve the stability of the application components.
  • Provide (level 1) support and maintenance for the application and resolve complex anomalies.
  • Work autonomously.

As a test automation developer:

  • Understand the technical and business features of the systems.
  • Develop test plan and strategies to meet business needs.
  • Produce estimates based on requirements.
  • Analyze the impact of requirements on our automated scripts / regression tests.
  • Prepare and execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Participate in various code reviews (test cases, test sets, strategy…).
  • Prepare test matrices and reports for various team or management meetings.
  • Identify reusable modules and components in application automation scripts.
  • Define branching strategy.
  • Create and maintain test tool documentation (technical and functional); (user list, environment, test data).
  • Contribute to the configuration and maintenance of test automation scripts and tools/framework (for each delivery).
  • Create quality control standards and procedures.
  • Develop innovative concepts, standards, and quality control procedures (improvements).
  • Mentor and coach teammates (must be able to manage small teams or initiatives).
  • Ensure compliance with Intact standards and methods.
  • Share expertise on systems, processes, technologies, and evolving standards and best practices (SME).
  • Improve and optimize test processes or tools.
  • Participate in walkthroughs sessions and demos.
  • Provide support during all phases of the project (development, deployment, including warranty period, etc.).
  • Participate in the creation, revision, and execution of implementation plans/schedules.
  • Collaborate with project/agile teams to ensure full test coverage (including downstream impacts).
  • Be responsible for end-to-end full-stack automation scripts for at least one strategic application.
  • Participate in the quality review of deliverables and assist in anomaly tracking and analysis.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 5-8 years of development experience.
  • Knowledge of REST and SOAP services.
  • Knowledge of JAVA language.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins/Jira.
  • Knowledge of ReadyAPI (an asset).
  • Analytical mind. 
  • Initiative and ability to work under pressure.
  • Open to changes and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and an eye for detail. 
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Bilingualism required (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
