The Team

The Finance department is structured around four essential pillars: accounting & reporting, financial planning, strategic finance, and finance operations. This role is a part of the finance operations sub-team - Finance Data.

The primary responsibility is to uphold the company's financial health by ensuring the exposure of complete and accurate financial data. Additionally, the role involves developing reporting processes aimed at driving cost optimization and fostering strategic decision-making.

The Finance Data team takes pride in its deep understanding of the finance domain and robust data processing skills, emphasizing precision and attention to detail. This combination allows us to stay flexible and consistently deliver accurate results, providing significant value to the company.

The Role

Join us as a Finance Data Analyst, where your focus on Finance Data intricacies ensures the availability, completeness, and accuracy of vital information.

You will collaborate with data teams not only to elevate source data quality but also to optimize processes, ensuring resource efficiency. You'll play a central role in developing finance data models, emphasizing data accessibility. While some analysis and dashboard work is involved, the primary thrust of your role is the effective exposure of critical data.

In our journey to advance capabilities, your role is pivotal in achieving ambitious reporting goals. You will work closely with the Finance Data Lead to actively shape and realize these objectives, contributing significantly to our ongoing progress.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain the accuracy of finance data in the data warehouse, driving the resolution of identified errors.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analysts to enhance existing data pipelines, ensuring continuous improvement of analytical capabilities.
  • Develop source data tables for finance reporting needs and design scalable data models for accurate decision-making.
  • Drive company-wide data accessibility, promoting self-service and utilizing BI tools like Looker.
  • Contribute to keeping processes organized and well-documented, actively participating in process improvements, particularly during month-end closing activities.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration, ensuring effective communication and alignment between finance and data teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of practical experience in a role involving data analysis, data management, or a related field, with a focus on Finance
  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL, with recent hands-on experience.
  • In-depth experience with financial reporting processes, showcasing a strong understanding of financial data interpretation.
  • Proven background in working with financial or accounting data in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building and maintaining data ETL pipelines, showcasing a strong understanding of data integration processes.
  • Working proficiency with Business Intelligence tools (Looker) and a track record in creating impactful dashboards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction, including the capability to design, gather requirements, and develop data and reporting models.
  • Additional education, such as certifications or advanced courses, in relevant fields.
