As a Product Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be setting individual goals and objectives in your assigned area of responsibility and create the strategy for accomplishing under the direction of management. This position is also responsible for APQP for new product development, incorporating lessons learned into future designs and processes to prevent recurrence and leading the analysis and resolution of DV/PV non-conformances, and analyzing/reporting issues and risks to management in a timely manner to prevent larger issues developing. 

The role is responsible for Quality activities in APQP – DFMEA, PFMEA, & control plan preparation, developing the QA matrix, customer liaison for APQP/PPAP/DV/PV/Customer launch issues, and facilitating problem-solving process for DV / PV open issues.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Understand voice of the customer and final purchaser requirements from marketing requirement document (MRD) perspective.
  • Product requirement documents revisions with engineering team to match all marketing needs from product and validation perspective. 
  • Lessons learned review from previous product versions or similar to create the improvement plan. 
  • Safety review checklist development and coordination with other relevant teams 
  • DFMEA coordination and maturity through product design phase and quality sustaining after launch.
  • Test plan creation, test cases revision along with engineering to create good processes for an optimal test execution. 
  • Test execution revision and understanding of regression test plan in case of failures.
  • Documentation of final official reports for CQ, and the creation of the special reports for different customers.
  • First product inspection (FPI) to identify risk of product launch dates and potential errors to delay the project program.
  • PFMEA revision to match DMFEA is reflected correctly from manufacturing outlook.
  • Final qualification review after (Product validation testing) PVT, as an ultimate filer of design review before production mass. 
  • Become an APQP Leader / champion:
  • Lead APQP cross-functional work on NPI for major projects.
  • Leverage lessons learned from the existing projects into NPI.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure Quality requirements are delivered on each stage gate of the projects, with clear risk, tradeoffs, actions.
  • Lead cross-functional team to achieve quality targets to exceed customer expectations by delivering robust quality products.
  • Train and mentor cross-functional team on APQP methodology & implementation.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering (or related)
  • Experience in a similar position for at least 5 years
  • Strong knowledge and prior experience demonstrating APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Understanding the needs of the customer (VOC) and implementing best practices in early planning stages
  • Analyzing and mitigating failure modes and risk early, with rapid problem solving
  • Maintain AQPQ Status Report for supported projects, but also working cross-functionally with other disciplines/teams to complete milestones effectively

  • Experience on design assurance quality tools:
  • Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Improvement plan.
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Good communication with other areas: engineering, suppliers quality, customer quality, sourcing, etc.
  • Green belt certification is desirable but not essential.
