Job Description

AbbVie is looking for a Medical Advisor who will work in Sweden with our portfolio in Immunology. The candidate will represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) within the Immunology therapeutic area, specifically psoriatic disease (psoriasis & psoriatic arthritis). 

Tasks include, but are not limited to: 

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with experts and academic centers; attend scientific congresses, arrange advisory groups, discussion forums and symposia. 
  • Deliver scientific presentations and facilitate medical education to health care professionals. 
  • Prepare scientific/medical information on request. 
  • Review and approval of commercial material. Ensure that content is scientifically/medically correct and in accordance with regulatory and internal guidelines. 
  • Be the medical/scientific expert in the cross-functional Brand Team, and provide medical/scientific input to medical affairs strategies, marketing strategy and commercial initiatives. 
  • Assist in initiating, supervising, and following up clinical trials and medical projects. 
  • Design and implement clinical research projects, e.g. Phase IV, observational, registry and epidemiological studies when relevant. 

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic medical or scientific degree, research experience (PhD) is not required but will be considered as an advantage. 
  • Experience from the pharmaceutical industry or from Immunology TA is not required but will be considered as an advantage. 
  • Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general. 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills in Swedish. 
  • Fluency in English is required to facilitate communications between the affiliate medical department, Regional and International Medical Affairs and other AbbVie functional staff. 
  • Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity. 
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50-70% of time, both national & international
