POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) Functional Support Analyst III (Analyst) will support Targa’s Environmental, Health & Safety and Sustainability (business) portfolio. The Analyst will be responsible for taking ownership of the development, sustainment, and operations for specific business applications and help drive business-focused digitalization. The Analyst is responsible for taking business requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and translating them into detailed projects. 

The Analyst will assist the business in achieving Targa’s goals with respect to environmental compliance and sustainability by driving continual improvement in sustainable work processes and systems. The Analyst will collaborate with the technology department and participate in the process of planning for, implementing, and supporting business systems. A proven ability to solve problems, learn new material, adapt to change, build relationships, and be an effective communicator are key traits to success in this position. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain end-to-end understanding of functional aspects of systems and associated business processes. 
  • Investigates business requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements. 
  • Establish strong customer relationships with business stakeholders by making efforts to listen, developing solutions to customer needs, giving high priority to customer satisfaction and act as an advocate for the business.
  • Facilitate design sessions and the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple stakeholders and build proposed solution. 
  • Clarify and translate project needs into feasible workable functional requirements, and statements of work. 
  • Support in creating project cost and resourcing estimates. 
  • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities with emphasis on continuous service improvement by working with vendors. 
  • Prevent the replication of problems by sharing lessons learned and best practices with other team members, technology team, and business users. 
  • Collaborate with Technology Support Teams, vendors, 3rd parties, and Project Management Teams to meet business requirements. 
  • Adhere to and be a champion of Targa’s Technology Governance programs like, change management, communication, and release management. 
  • Manage and train team members by being proactive in expanding technical knowledge and skills. 
  • Understand and solve issues and challenges such as differing agendas, and resistance to change. 

MINIMUM ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Engineering, or Management of Information Systems, or related science such as chemistry, physics, or other environmental science. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with software systems in a consulting/industrial environment with one or more of the following ES&H, or Engineering, or Operations software like Sphera, Opsinfo, Enablon, SAP, Intelex, Enviance. GIS, Maximo, PCS etc. 
  • Prior experience with working in collaborative cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to manage and direct activities of others in a multi-project environment. 
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company (regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants) while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude 
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills and ability to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities 
  • Experience with SQL and reporting tools like PowerBI. 
  • Ability to convey opinions persuasively and facilitate negotiations 
  • Ability to find the "story" buried in processes and communicate it to a wider audience effectively 
  • Remain current with industry trends in business and technology to forecast future initiatives 
  • Advanced level desktop computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer. 
  • Fluent English verbal and written skills. 
  • Physical ability to accompany plant employees on plant tours. 
  • Ability to travel away overnight periodically, as needed, for training or company events. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) 
  • Related work experience in oil and gas or consulting environment through previous work. 
  • Familiarity with ES&H processes like air permitting, environmental compliance, health, and safety 
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley IT Change management controls 
  • Familiarity with ESG Reporting Frameworks 
  • Familiarity with ITIL v3 Foundations 
  • Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile development methodologies 
  • Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Technologies (Microsoft Certifications)
