Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product management, consulting, co-founder or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience building and shipping technical products.
  • Experience with high performance Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and Application Programming Interface (API).
  • Experience defining and delivering developer tools and related Software Development kits (SDKs).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Technology or Business related field.
  • 5 years of experience working across the hardware ecosystem.
  • 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working with developer tools for mobile games or compute applications for the GPU.
  • Experience working effectively with executive leaders, peers, and direct reports.

The Android Developer Experience team produces the tools and toolkits to enable developers to create the best possible mobile applications and games, for all devices.

In this role, you will drive the GPU software stack for Android and lead the way for graphics and compute on Android. You will unlock new functionality and performance through helping the ecosystem move to the Vulkan API.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define tools roadmap to help developers easily productize Machine Learning (ML) based use cases and high fidelity graphics across the Android fleet. 
  • Help developers migrate to the Vulkan Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) by delivering a suite of tools and libraries that work with their existing products. Deliver tools to help the Vulkan transition, by helping developers debug, capture traces, and profile their games.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that the tools are on track for delivering developer value. 
  • Evaluate new applications, use cases, proofs-of-concept, technologies and standards, and advocate for/against adoption based on system-level and use-case consideration.
  • Drive early and ongoing alignment between Engineering, Product Management, Software, and Research teams as well as partner closely with product teams across Google to understand their goal, objectives, and opportunities for strategic alignment.
