Oracle's Global Industry Services is looking for a senior Oracle Database Administrator to support our customers on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. In the role of Senior Cloud Services Database Engineer, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for all database-related activities. This includes EXACS support, developing automation to scale, and many other standard database administrator tasks. You'll work with a global database team to support the latest in cloud database technologies.

Tasks

  • Provide DBA support for EXACS environments
  • Work with internal customers to coordinate maintenances
  • Execute and support maintenances including DOMU, DOM0 and PSU patching for EXACS environments
  • Help investigate and remediate performance issues
  • Design, Develop and deploy automation to support database fleet Write detailed documentation
  • Work closely with Oracle Support to address issues
  • Complete assigned ticket work
  • Perform knowledge transfer to other team members
  • Integrate systems and processes with existing tooling
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis and preventive actions
  • Work across multiple groups on assigned projects

Preffered Skills

  • 5+ Years of Oracle Database Administration including EXACS
  • 5+ Years of DevOps experience- designing, writing and implementing automation
  • Experience with Oracle Database 12c,18c,19c, ASM, and Dataguard
  • Experience with coding best practices and tools Experience with RAC, CDB, and PDB architecture
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Experience with Oracle Red Stack Technologies
  • Perform tasks such as: database upgrades, database patching, and database migrations
  • Ability to think and design at scale in order to support a large number of database systems
  • Ability to script in two or more of the following languages: Bash, Chef, Ruby, and Python
  • Exposure to tools including: Gitlab, Jira, and Ansible (OLAM)
  • Understanding of ITIL fundamentals
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field

Weekend and off hours work will be required.
