Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Central Europe will be primarily responsible to oversee and manage 4PL operations in The Netherlands. This includes, budget creation and control, performance management and contract negotiations.

Additionally, the position holder ensures ongoing & uninterrupted supply of medicinal goods and will manage local inventory and is responsible to replenish Finished Goods from the CMO to the 4PL for Central European countries.

The position is embedded in the Apellis Germany organization and reports to the Associate Director, International Supply Chain based in Switzerland. It also has a dotted reporting line to the German organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead monthly demand review process and support S&OP process for the region
• Manage the local FG inventory at 4PL for the region.
• Develop FG replenishment plan for 4PL for the region.
• Minimize risk of inventory obsolescence through inventory analysis
• Execute ERP Transaction in SAP
• Manage returns from customer to 4PL and oversee FG destruction at the 4PL.
• Perform Stock reconciliation (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Perform annual stock count at the 4PL.
• Oversee & manage daily operations with the 4PL for the region.
• Establish and chair quarterly business reviews with the 4PL.
• Establish KPI's (e.g., OTIF, Exceptions etc.) and monitor 4PLs performance.
• Create and control the annual budget for the external warehouse & logistics provider for the region.
• Creation and maintenance of SOP, WI, etc.
• Exception handling, determine root causes, implement CAPAS and drive closures.
• Support Audits
• Support roll-out of IT tools
• Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts.
• Single point of contact for the local business for supply chain related topics
• Ensure that handling and distribution of medicinal products are in accordance with regulatory requirements, GMP/GDP, and internal policies.

Education, Registration & Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree required (Degree in Life Science, Business Administration, Operations or Supply Chain preferred)
• APICS CSCP is a plus.

Professional Experience:

• >8 years of professional experience in Supply Chain. Preferable within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of 4PL distribution and customer service operations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience in project management, collaborative partnerships, and supplier relationships
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Must be able to work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with all stakeholders of the organization.
• Must be result oriented and able to work independently with limited direction as part of and with cross functional teams.
• Strong business acumen
• Profound knowledge of GDP
• Thorough understanding of GDP and local regulations
• Fluent English and German
