Summary:
This position will be an integral part of building out a world-class Program Management Operation for the execution and delivery of small capital and operations projects (Site Minor Works) as Seagen continues to grow and expand within the area. This position will lead a cross-functional team (internal & external) of Project Managers (PMs), Assistant Project Managers (APMs), and project support teams across the Real Estate & Facilities (REF) Program Management Organization (PMO). This position reports to the Program Management Organization Lead, Real Estate & Facilities.
Main Duties:
- Plan, estimate, allocate, supervise, and organize resources for all small capital, operations, and expense work requests (Service Now or equivalent) related to the Canyon Park, North Creek, Bothell, and Everett campuses while maintaining high-quality program delivery
- Manage a program execution that implements Seagen’s health & safety standards while adhering to agreed milestones and program KPIs related to project schedules, budget and cost management, innovation, and program optimization
- Manage/supervise and motivate a team of multi-skilled employees, ensuring the highest working standards are maintained
- Provide detailed direction, support, and guidance to the project delivery team to create feasible and high-quality execution plans
- Partner and collaborate with the various organizations (Facilities, CoE, EHS&S, CorpSec, Workplace, and Business Ops) that make up the REF department for the successful execution of small capital and expense projects
- Attend regular REF governance meetings, and report program execution progress
- Provide guidance and support team members in the decision-making process of project delivery type to use
- Drive continuous development and fulfillment of a suitable REF PMO program
- Develop ideas to be implemented for continuous improvement including workflows and strategic forecasting
- Evaluate and assign projects to team members in a timely manner. Ensure each team member has an acceptable balance of project workload and alignment of skills and project type
- Review and approve invoices from external resources performing the work
- Hold regular project update meetings with team members to ensure projects are aligned with PMO portfolio goals and milestones
- Develop and manage client relationships as appropriate, including management of expectations, communications, negotiations, escalation, and feedback
- Develop and generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (as needed). Reports should include the volume of work executed, relevant KPIs, team members and team structure, processes and process improvements, and feedback from end users
- May have to undertake shift work as and when required, which may involve working off-shift hours and weekends when required
- Work with and carry out accident and incident reporting in accordance with the Seagen assigned Safety Manager and Seagen Policies
- Develop rigor and guidance for efficient, effective, and consistent project delivery for the Site Minor Works program
- Oversee Janus & Apptus intake process (for contracting and Purchase Order issuance) to support the PMO
Team Development:
- Ensure all team members are suitably trained and organize up-skilling courses as required. Providing all necessary tools and resources to successfully execute and deliver projects efficiently and effectively
- Develop a balanced team with the skills to execute a variety of projects including, equipment moves, TI for offices and labs, instrumentation and infrastructure improvements, and replacements
- Work with team members to set up goals and objectives for the year and to include professional and personal
- Work to establish a good work environment and minimize team member turnover
Portfolio Execution:
- Align Program execution with Seagen’s Real Estate & Facilities organizational and global goals by utilizing agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on an annual basis
- Provide guidance on all business activities to maintain quality standards, consistency, and technical coordination and thus ensure continuous improvement of the delivery of program services
- Understand and implement Seagen’s REF best practice framework and execution of checks and balances through the rigor of the Stage-Gate process throughout the life cycle of a project
- Develop and implement tools and processes to manage project risk, project estimates and costs, and resources and metrics
- Communicate the status of active client portfolio to The Head of PMO and/or the PMO Lead highlighting KPIs related to milestones, deadlines, hours, margins, risk management, safety, etc.
- Monitor compliance with policies and standards
- Ensure completion of close-out forms for all projects and include a short survey from end users for feedback
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2 years in a program management role overseeing a program of projects up to $10M in value and leading a team of Project Managers, Associate PMs, and technicians
- Ability to evaluate and triage in-flow of projects and prioritize for timely delivery
- Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
- Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills
- Ability to build a strong network and relationships within Seagen and with external consultants and vendors
- Demonstrate professional, high integrity, trustworthy, and ethical behavior always
- Advanced level of critical thinking, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Authority to delegate and monitor work completion, timely and accurately, across teams
- Reporting using dashboards and presentations using relative and pertinent project data as well as help with establishing Seagen benchmarks for PMO
- Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make effective decisions independently with minimal escalation to or supervision from supervisor
- Experience dealing with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Licensed/Registered Mechanical or Electrical, PE
- Understanding of aspects of Commissioning and Qualification activities
- Ability to influence and persuade cross-functional groups
- Continuous improvement leadership skill sets
- Progressive experience in Facilities Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
- Additional accreditations or certifications especially centered around sustainable design – i.e., Commissioning, LEED AP, DBIA, etc.
- Membership within External Industry Organization

The hiring pay range for this position is $103,000 to $133,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire and an annual bonus.
