Position Overview:

Are you a data modeler who loves new challenges and are interested in modeling for the newest data storage technology? Freddie Mac is at a transitional stage with its data storage to take advantage of cloud computing as well as NoSQL data storage. This position involves working closely with project teams to understand business data requirements and provide data modeling domain expertise. We are seeking a modeler who will translate the requirements into logical and physical data models, and generate the DDL/JSON which will then be used build and modify databases. Project work is done in Waterfall, Agile, and Modern Delivery, and includes traditional databases (i.e. DB2, Oracle), Postgres, Snowflake and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Data Lakes.

Your Impact:

Develop logical and physical data models for Traditional Data Stores and NoSQL

Ensure data objects enforce to defined Freddie Mac standards and standard methodologies

Baseline DDLs

Develop, test, and implement scripts, programs, and related processes to collect, handle, and publish DEV and PROD metadata from data models

Develop DDL implementation/back-out plans

Promote data models into production metadata environments.

Support DDL PROD implementation. Support post-production validation of DDL.

Ability to query and analyze data.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of data modeling and metadata management experience.
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university with coursework in Business, Information Technology, or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with both relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modeling.
  • Experience with data management standards and data model practices
  • Experience with physical data structure design in DB2, UDB, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, Postgres, Snowflake and/or MongoDB using ER/Studio DA or Erwin.
  • Experience with querying databases and analyzing data.

High Level Technical Skills

  • Experience with query capabilities such as Visual Basic macro development and SQL
  • Experience using ClearCase, GIT, Remedy, ER/Studio DA
  • Mortgage/finance industry data modeling experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to quickly earn the trust of key partners
  • Thrives in an environment with changing priorities
  • Sound business and technical skill
  • Focused and versatile teammate that is comfortable under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Able to navigate through a large corporate environment and ensure appropriate processes are met

  • Have a deep understanding of modeling theory and technologies.
  • Good communication skills, you will be responsible for interfacing and working with multiple project teams across Freddie Mac.
  • Eager to work on multiple projects concurrently, independently and be self-motivated!

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $111,000 - $167,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
