IT Group Description
The Equity Investment Management Technology (“EIMT”) team creates software to support the research, portfolio management, and trading activities for our institutional and private client equity products. This role is within the EIMT – Institutional Portfolio Management team. The main software that the Institutional Portfolio Management team works on is our Global Optimizer (“GO”) system and Trade Ticket. These are front office systems used by our portfolio management team to invest over 1,000 institutional accounts and mutual funds worth nearly $200 billion.
GO is used by our portfolio managers as a research tool to make investment decisions, and is used by our associate portfolio managers to implement those decisions in our portfolios. GO manages securities of nearly every asset type, including stocks, bonds, currencies, forwards, futures, and other derivatives. The primary functions of GO include portfolio optimization, target management, trade implementation, and pre- and post-trade compliance.
Trade Ticket is used by the Portfolio Managers to make product specific trade requests. These requests ultimately flow to GO to be implemented.
We are seeking a Senior Programmer based in New York City or the surrounding area.
Describe the role:
This is a software development role working primarily on the Global Optimizer and Trade Ticket systems described above. As a Programmer/Analyst you will get the opportunity to work directly with the end business users as well as having the opportunity working as a full-stack developer participating in both front end and back end development.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Our Programmer/Analysts are considered partners with our business users and are expected to not simply implement requirements – rather, they are expected to work closely with our business users to come up with solutions to business problems.
Once the solutions have been well defined, a Programmer/Analyst designs and implements the software, and sees the project through quality assurance and user assurance testing phases.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
