You Are:

UST is searching for a Sr. Java Developer who will act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options, optimizing application development, maintenance, and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions, accounting for others' developmental activities.

The Opportunity:

  • Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.
  • Code, debug, test, document, and communicate product/component/feature development stages.
  • Validate results with user representatives; integrate and commissions the overall solution
  • Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving, or reconfiguration existing components or creating your own solutions
  • Optimizes efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Influence and improve customer satisfaction

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,
  • Minimum of 8 years of IT work experience focused on systems development and programming using Java Java/J2EE software development and web technologies.
  • The health insurance industry especially any Blue Plans including Anthem is highly desirable.
  • Blue Plan experience including Anthem
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design, and architectural patterns.
  • Skillful in coding reusable libraries and concurrency patterns in Java
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, RESTful, and web application frameworks
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Development experience in Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate frameworks
  • Knowledge of migrating GUI-based/Web API applications across higher JDK versions
  • Create complex Java classes/wrapper programs to trigger third-party application programs
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with tools such as Jira
  • Experience in database integration using SQL & Oracle 10+
  • Strong experience in writing JDBC programs, and setting up database connection pooling
  • Experience with client-side user interface frameworks such as Angular (v5+) and Bootstrap
  • Experience with unit test frameworks including Junit, Jenkins, Mockito, Contrast
  • Skillful in tools/technologies such as Git, GitHub Desktop, IBM WebSphere, Node JS, Java 8 , TypeScript, Java Script, JSP
  • Experience using RAD, Eclipse, SOAP UI, Spring STS, VS code, DB Visualizer
  • Experience in Automation and tools such as Selenium is a plus.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by local law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $73,000-$109,000

Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits. Depending on the role, some associates may also be eligible for stock options.
