Job Description

ARM is continuing to strengthen the Procurement function and would like to appoint an experienced Procurement Category Manager (Marketing and/or Engineering) to assist in category management and sourcing that delivers on key aspects of Cost, Service and Capability. 

This role will contribute to the broader Procurement transformation programme and continued success of the function within ARM.


  • Support ARM Procurement category strategy and planning for respective category group (Corporate Services) and associated sub-categories in response to business needs across ARM (potentially in all regions).
  • Lead on aspects of category plan implementation, including creation of sourcing plans and sourcing delivery that maximises leverage; this may include leveraging global supply capability for global consumption and/or localising services for ARM.
  • Support development and refresh of sourcing project pipelines aligned to business and category group customer/client objectives to drive value and benefits for ARM.
  • Achieve material cost reduction targets, and assist with ongoing identification, reporting and monitoring of benefits.
  • Lead RFP process and associated activities aligned to category and sourcing plans.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships, and work closely with nominated category customer/client stakeholders, project management teams to achieve objectives.
  • Bring knowledge of, and apply leading-class sourcing and supplier management processes and techniques - supplier selection and evaluation, contract negotiation and supplier performance management, price inflation management, metrics deployment, etc.
  • Lead in supplier mediation and problem resolution e.g. service and contract disputes, working with customer/client stakeholders and legal, as appropriate.
  • Key member of the ARM Procurement Team.

Job Requirements

Essential experience

  • Commercial experience in strategic procurement, preferably in multi-site and/or multi-region organisations.
  • Track record of delivery in this type of role in cross-cultural, cross-functional environments.
  • Background in Procurement, Corporate Services categories and sub-categories, specific knowledge of sub-categories, such as:
  • Professional and Consulting Services (Management Consulting and Advisory, strategy, business); equally others, Technology Consulting Services, Marketing Services or similar would be advantageous.
  • Experience of change management and business process improvement.
  • High level analytical, verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, takes own initiative, ability to effectively organise, and be a flexible thinker.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills are required for working with internal customers/ clients, and in service provider interactions.
  • Advanced level user in Excel.
  • Knowledge and use of eProcurement and e-Sourcing methodology and tools.

Desirable experience

  • Ideally worked in engineering-led sectors. 
  • MCIPS, ISM or equivalent.
