JOB SUMMARY

Initiates, develops, and coordinates effective design solutions for HISD marketing and communications material. Uses current computer-based applications to produce graphic materials to enhance projects/programs.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and produces graphic materials to support district operations. Manipulates photographs, electronic files, logos, illustrations, and assorted design materials as required for production.
  • Collaborates with design team, customer service, and print production staff to meet the needs of the customers and deliver the correct information.
  • Consults with the Customer Service staff to understand specific job and production requirements.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining digital files. Evaluates new hardware, software, and design techniques.
  • Meets production deadlines and maintains the district’s quality standards.
  • May develop print and online content material used for training and educating teachers and students. May provide other technical and administrative assistance as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Adobe Suite; Macromedia Dreamweaver/ Flash

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
