The primary duties and responsibilities of the Resident Engineer are to be the field point of contact for the client and all project stakeholders. Reporting directly to the assigned HDR Project Manager, the Resident Engineer manages and supervises an assigned field office and construction field inspection staff and conduct reviews and verifications of construction schedules and inspections. Is responsible to assist in the preparation and negotiations of construction change orders and for preparation of weekly / monthly project reports. Chairs Project Progress meetings and distributes Meeting Minutes. Performs routine assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling software. BS Civil Engineering or Construction. Current NYS PE is required. 10+ years progressive experience on multi-disciplinary transportation related construction projects, including Bridge and Street Reconstruction / Water Main and Sanitary / Storm-water Sewer Installations work for NYC agencies such as NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DDC and NYC EDC. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, experience with Microsoft office, Microsoft Project and related PC software packages used on design and construction projects. Candidates who reside locally in the metro NY/NJ area are preferred.
