The role of Security Analyst is to monitor the security systems within Dimension Data / NTT Ltd. They are responsible for securing the organisation’s online and on-premises infrastructures, filtering out suspicious activity, and finding and mitigating security risks before any breaches can occur.

The Security Analyst works across business areas or disciplines to identify and correct any flaws in the organisation’s security systems.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to counter security breaches and anticipate and reduce the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters
  • Define, plan, implement, maintain, and upgrade security measures, policies, and controls
  • Write reports and provide insights on the efficacy of the current security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information
  • Assist with the creation of updates and training programs to secure the network and train the employees
  • Keeping the security systems up to date
  • Monitor security access and maintain the relevant data
  • Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and performing internal and external security audits
  • Analyze security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans
  • Verify and coordinate security plans with outside vendors.
  • Create procedures for IT employees and training them in security awareness.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a computer science or information technology or related
  • Relevant Security related certification(s) required
  • Comptia: CYSA, CASP, S+
  • Microsoft Security: AZ-900, MS-900 (preferable)
  • Relevant Vendor EDR Certification
  • Mimecast: Gladiator

Experience required:

  • 1 - 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role gained within a similar information technology environment
  • Vulnerability management experience (desirable)
  • Microsoft Sentinel Experience (desirable)
