Accounts Payable Expert - Nordics Area

Finance role to support Source-to-Pay process in one of EMEIA regions – Nordics. The role will be responsible for supporting several business priorities, including activities such as process controlling, accounting support, comprehensive analysis and reporting.

This role will focus on supporting Accounts Payable function that keeps our organization on long-term success. You will establish a trusted relationship with our clients, understanding their needs and teaming with other Finance team members to bring best-in-class analytical and accounting support, functional expertise, technical acumen and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will not only bring financial expertise, but also a passion for applying the latest technology to drive efficiency and solve problems.

As Accounts Payable Expert you will be part of the Nordic Controlling team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitor invoice flow and ensure excellent accounting quality
  • Actively support AP process controls and identify areas for improvement
  • Support resolving process challenges and exceptions, initiate improvement projects, and drive continuous enhancements in the process
  • Cooperate with AP Team to provide guidance and assist with problem resolution
  • Attending regular team meetings to discuss current topics and support different financial projects
  • Oversee and get involved in the creation of work instructions and guidelines for AP Team; continually monitor, update and communicate observations and actions to be undertaken
  • Maintain successful working relationships with stakeholders Participation in projects and driving change

Skills and attributes for success

  • Good analytical skills, personal drive as well as team orientation
  • Experience with S2P accounting processes (Accounts Payable)
  • Ability to prioritize day-to-day decisions and work assignments, to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle several projects at a time, at various stages of progress simultaneously and effectively
  • Working as part of a team; demonstrating a positive work attitude 
  • Attention to detail, commitment to excellence and curiosity to learn
  • In this role, a proactive attitude, providing hands-on support, and an interest in as well as understanding of the financial-administrative processes are important.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken 
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance)
  • Strong accounting knowledge and familiarity with accounting policies (2+ years of experience in finance/controlling or similar role)
  • Experience of accounting in practice, preferably in SAP
  • Experience with MS Office software package (including MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also individually on the assigned tasks

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Knowledge of a Scandinavian language
  • Knowledge of SAP FICO
  • Interest in Technology/AI solutions
  • Open mind with cultural sensitivity; well-structured and self-driven work approach
  • Strong communication and partnering skills with people from all levels of the company
