ESI, an MKS brand is looking for a Principal Electronic Engineer.

This person will collaborate with a team of engineers (Software, Mechanical, Systems, Optical and Firmware); working on products that push the boundaries of physics to provide highly accurate and reliable machines which are on production floors around the world. Our teams are talented, passionate and together we create systems layer by layer: frame, electronics, firmware, software and finally integration. You must love variety. One day you may work on analog, the next day digital, firmware or RF, then throw in some cables, power distribution and compliance and boom…there is a new system.

The ESI portfolio consists of laser-based micro manufacturing systems and component test systems.

You Will:

  • Simulate, integrate, and design complex subsystems (e.g., PCBA/analog/digital/RF/FW) to achieve system-level requirements.
  • Board level digital circuit design, analog circuit design, power subsystem design, firmware development, and system integration and testing.
  • Guide the team through design evaluations and engineering tradeoffs to optimize functional performance, reliability, and product cost.
  • Help define and implement appropriate test plans and procedures.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating criteria by conducting experimental tests and evaluating the results.

What You bring to the team, along with your creativity is:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering and 8 years of experience in development and debug of electronics.

OR

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Electronic, Computer Engineering and 4 years of experience in development and debug of electronics.

AND

  • Electrical engineering design experience (e.g., PCBA design, layout, FPGA, EMC, thermal).
  • Proficient in at least two of the following: digital, analog, FPGA development, compliance/EMC troubleshooting, RF design, electro-mechanical builds (box builds).
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex systems with a team.
  • Experience with digital and mixed signal board level circuit design.
  • Lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
  • A proven history of technical design success and a methodology of achieving it.
  • Ability to work on problems of difficult scope where success requires analysis of data and judgement on the generation of additional unprovided inputs
  • While travel in infrequent, up to 10% travel is possible
