Intern Responsibilities May Include:

  • Support and report on the execution of the Kemper process improvement programs, including the coordination and participation in Best Practice creation, monthly metric analysis, ad-hoc reviews, and other audits / diagnostics as needed.
  • Ideate and coordinate pilot initiatives to understand and create innovation for insurance.
  • Work with management to support improvement plans and controls for tracking improvement or deterioration resulting from the metric analysis and or workflows.
  • Provide support to various functions at Kemper possibly including (but not limited): Finance, Operations, Strategy, Audit, HR

Intern Requirements & Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior status enrolled at: {insert school of posting} California State University, Clark Atlanta University, Florida International University, Harris-Stowe State University, Miles College, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
  • Qualifying majors in an academic area related to financial services or insurance industry, such as, finance, data analytics, communications, accounting, or business administration.
  • Non-business majors are welcome if strong interest in financial services and/or insurance industry. 
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to learn claims computer applications.
  • Good collaborative and relationship-building skills
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • This position is a hybrid role and may require work in the office 2-3 days a week.

The hourly rate for this opportunity is $20.00/hour. Fall and Spring interns could be expected to work at least 20/hours per week. Interns are eligible for $2000 stipend.
