Hedge Fund Due Diligence Analyst

Bessemer Trust is seeking a talented Investment Due Diligence Analyst to join the Hedge Fund Team. The ideal candidate will have excellent hedge fund manager research experience, robust analytical abilities, effective written and verbal skills, and a collaborative nature. This candidate will report into the Head of Hedge Funds.

Role Description

  • Perform industry research and deep dives into specific strategies and asset classes to source potential investment opportunities
  • Identify and evaluate specific investment opportunities with external hedge fund managers by conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligence across a diverse range of strategies
  • Prepare comprehensive investment reports with in-depth descriptions of managers to present to the investment committee
  • Aid in managing the data analytics and quantitative work associated with the portfolio management of the firm’s multi-manager funds
  • Monitor current managers through regular update calls and meetings to ensure a clear understanding of performance attribution, market opportunities and investment risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience sourcing and analyzing a range of strategies, including equity-long short, event-driven, Macro/CTA, fixed income relative value, etc.
  • Excellent quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Robust industry contact network to help in sourcing hedge fund managers and gathering information
  • Excellent attention to detail, well organized, results-driven and a motivated self-starter
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support the team wherever needed
  • CFA/CAIA designation or interest in gaining designation

The base salary range for this position is $130K - $165K. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skills, experience, and qualification for the role. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

In addition, this position may be eligible for a discretionary incentive-based bonus based on individual and company performance.

Eligible employees may participate in a 401 (K) program with a company profit sharing contribution, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability covering and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
