Team: The team is part of the Divisional Control Office. In an ever-changing financial landscape within a global business model, the role of the Divisional Control Office has never been more important. A strong risk management culture helps to reinforce Deutsche Bank’s resilience. The function identifies, aggregates, manages and mitigates risk across the core activities of operational risk management, supporting the Deutsche Bank IPB strategies whilst protecting the Bank. The team works with cross-functional and global teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally across the bank.

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitor changes of Key Controls in the control inventory (dbCI) and consider all relevant developments regarding the ongoing control assurance activities.
  • Help with preparation of periodic Controls dashboard for the IPB business (supporting each of the Assessment units across geography) monthly/ quarterly/ at specified frequency.
  • Assist the Global stakeholders with the Annual control assessment and certification process in IPB. Coordinate, review, and challenge the submissions from Global controls owners and gatekeep the Key control processes (db Control Inventory) for International Private Bank.
  • Maintaining and testing of the relevant application for control inventory (dbCI). Provide guidance to the DCO teams, create extracts for different constellations and support the monthly UAT. Grant access for dbCI module for DCO IPB users.
  • Ensure that any sensitive issues are escalated promptly with sound analysis and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development and build know-how within the team.
  • Coordinate with a diverse set of stakeholders across 1LOD and 2LOD to help completion of Controls tasks and activities and maintain effective partnerships within DCO, COO colleagues & Infrastructure partners.

Your skills and experience

Education & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of non-financial risks and controls
  • Proven experience of working with controls processes/ framework
  • Relevant experience in the Retail Banking / Private Banking sector or experience in financial services or consultancy (with Private Banking experience preferred but not essential)
  • Experience working on small to medium scale projects at least within a global environment.
  • University degree

Competencies:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills and a proactive team partner
  • Influencing, negotiation skills and stakeholder management expertise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint - automating tasks in Excel to improve efficiency a plus, but not mandatory
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken skills)
