Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Opportunity to play a key role in an international, $5 Billion+ publicly traded company headquartered outside of Atlanta. Reporting to the Associate Director of Tax, the Manager of Tax will be responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of Chart’s tax reporting and compliance obligations. This position will include domestic and foreign tax support, managing the tax accounting and compliance processes, working with the Associate Director of Tax to implement efficient tax processes, providing tax support in acquisitions and divestitures, evaluating Chart’s domestic tax position and providing advice on tax planning strategies to optimize the U.S. GAAP effective tax rate and cash tax results. This is a permanently remote position.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Manage an internal team (1 Senior) and outside tax advisors, including attorneys, accounting firms, and other tax consultants
  • Manage domestic tax compliance for all domestic and international operations including US Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, Franchise Tax, Foreign Income Tax Inclusions, GST, VAT, and others by using a combination of internal and external advisor resources
  • Support all tax related accounting on an annual and quarterly basis as required under US GAAP including ASC 740
  • Responsible for quarterly estimated tax liability processes
  • Manage the tax account activity including monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and related review of tax journal entries
  • Responsible for state and local tax audits and notice responses and assisting with federal audit issues
  • Interact on a regular basis with regional financial personnel to ensure that they are fully informed and adding value in areas of compliance, tax financial reporting, and operational/development support
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Tax, financial team, and business unit management to develop and implement targeted tax planning strategies with their respective business units
  • Support the development and implementation of global tax strategies that align with business planning, corporate strategy and global footprint, in addition to reducing and maintaining the effective tax rate 
  • Preparation and maintenance of tax controls documentation for SOX compliance 

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • Master’s degree in Tax or Accounting preferred 
  • CPA certification preferred 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of progressive corporate tax experience, public accounting experience is preferred (Big 4 or Large Regional Firm Preferred) 
  • Experience with ASC 740 and federal, state tax law knowledge is a must 
  • Experience with U.S. international tax principles
  • Experience in reviewing and filing U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns for large multi-national corporations
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (or similar system) is a plus
