Role Overview
Ipsos Public Affairs (PA) houses one of the largest qualitative research businesses in the UK. We design and deliver research for most Government Departments and other public sector bodies. We use a range of methods (in-depth interviews, focus groups, online communities, digital ethnography) and bring innovation to our projects, for example using Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and AI.
Our domestic and international research is grounded in high-quality, inclusive and ethical processes, while delivering the robust insights needed to make people-centred change. Our rigorous approach means that we are trusted to deliver complex and high-profile studies that help policy makers build public engagement and a true understanding of how policies and public services are working for citizens, businesses and wider society
What will I be doing?
As a Research Manager, you will be part of methods team, managing projects across Public Affairs (PA). These may be research projects or the qualitative research elements of evaluations. They will be with a range of audiences including the public (ranging from global studies to niche groups and with a focus on vulnerable audiences) and senior stakeholders. Our work contributes to the development and evaluation of policies across a range of policy areas and – given the focus on research with vulnerable or marginalised audiences and on sensitive research – you will primarily support projects which feed into government initiatives and policy related to migration and refugees, crime, domestic abuse, homelessness and health inequalities among other areas.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a commercially focussed qualitative researcher, experienced in research with vulnerable audiences and on a range of sensitive research areas. The role will involve:

We work with clients on political and public opinion polling, citizen and stakeholder management, social policy improvement, sustainable development strategy and identifying societal trends and perceptions across several sectors.
