Position Summary:

The Production Planner administers inventory and production control planning in support of the production schedule. They will be responsible for incorporating tracking WIP and inventory shortages to ensure on-time completion and shipment of products per the schedule.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planned order flipping into production work orders (C041).
  • Maintenance of SAP item master file for MML fabricated components such as; lot sizing, stocking levels, lead times, etc.; (MD04) (MMBE).
  • Develop and monitor production schedules based on inventory plan, customer delivery requirements, forecasts, and plant capacity utilization.
  • Work closely with Supervisors to ensure production plan requirements are effectively and efficiently achieved.
  • Liaise with the Sub-contracting Coordinator to ensure inventory levels are successfully maintained.
  • Keep track of work in progress and maintain WIP at appropriate level.
  • Work with Manufacturing engineering, Configuration, Materials management for accuracy of Routing and BOM.
  • Measure and Manage Value stream KPI as required.
  • Lead weekly capacity planning meeting for the value stream (CM01).
  • Provide guidance and support to global inventory management initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements.
  • Complete miscellaneous duties and tasks as they may be assigned.
  • Work with Sales and Operations Team for their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for prioritizing work, in conjunction with the area supervisor and MML production planner
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ensure ISO guidelines are followed. 

Basic Qualification

  • A Degree or diploma.in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of four (3) year's experience with Manufacturing processes, preferably in Machining.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent integrated ERP system
  • Production planning experience in an international environment; must be proficient with MS Office.
  • APICS enrollment or certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills; good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills; good attention to detail given the company wide impact.
