Publicis is seeking an experienced, self-motivated flexible Data Privacy Lawyer to assist our media, creative, health and communication agencies for the UK. This is a full-time position in London. You will be a member of our Global Data Privacy Office (GDPO) and report to a senior member of the GDPO. The role is broad and involves advising our business on the various privacy risks, obligations and other issues related to privacy. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated excellent legal/privacy judgment and strategic thinking but is also diligent, proactive, practical and fun to work with.

Opis stanowiska

  • Key point of contact for data privacy related enquiries for our media, communication, creative and health agencies in the UK.
  • Support internal teams, providing them with appropriate advice and guidance, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Provide support to members of the legal team on privacy matters and serve as subject matter expert on issues such as AdTech and marketing privacy for internal legal and business teams.
  • Collaborate with our Global Data Privacy Operations team to adapt data governance materials such as inventory templates, vendor due diligence questionnaires, proprietary system questionnaires, and privacy impact assessment questionnaires.
  • Collaborate with internal business clients and our Global Security Office on responding to current/potential customer privacy/security assessment questionnaires.
  • Assist the commercial legal team in drafting, reviewing and negotiating data privacy provisions in complex commercial contracts.
  • Draft and review agency website privacy notices, cookies policy, and other privacy notices and disclosures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of evolving legislative, regulatory and industry proposals mainly for the media and advertising sector.
  • Provide data protection and privacy advice relating to data partnerships and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all relevant privacy legislation and regulations and distribute this knowledge across both the legal function and the wider business.
  • Help develop data privacy training materials and conduct privacy trainings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across Publicis Groupe on multi-agency initiatives.

Kwalifikacje

  • Qualified UK solicitor, EU lawyer or common law jurisdiction equivalent. If non-UK qualified lawyer, extensive experience with UK law is required.
  • Privacy certification (such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US from IAPP or similar) is desirable.
  • 3+ years of legal experience, ideally within privacy but commercial and privacy combined experience will also be considered.
  • Flexible working with a minimum of three days a week in the local office.
  • In-house legal experience is desirable, particularly AdTech or technology experience with knowledge of digital advertising, including providing digital advertising/media counseling and transactional support to digital media companies, publishers, social media marketing, or online platforms in the AdTech/data space (e.g. ad serving, programmatic, data management, measurement, and analytics).
  • Direct experience applying European and UK privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant for media and advertising.
  • Commercially minded and having good communication and inter-personal skills to enable the individual to work with all levels of internal management and negotiate with external clients.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic data protection and privacy subject matter expert, with good knowledge of the latest regulatory changes and the related impacts on the media and advertising industry.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment, provide advice under tight deadlines and competent in managing a varied workload independently.
  • A good sense of humor.
