Job Description

About Bose

You know the moment. It's the first notes of that song you love, the intro to your favorite movie, or simply the sound of someone you love saying "hello". It's in these moments that sound matters most. At Bose, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth. We've dedicated ourselves to improving it for nearly 60 years. And we're passionate down to our bones about making whatever you're listening to a little more magical.

About the Team

The tool infrastructure engineering team is looking for an advanced development (A/D) electrical mixed-signal engineer with a strong interest in working on audio architectures and systems. The engineer will be working on aspects of Bose consumer and automotive sound systems for rapid prototyping purposes. The engineer will be working on defining and developing architectures and hardware that enable research and development staff to realize the next innovation for Bose products. You will work closely together with electrical, software, mechanical and system A/D engineers in a close-knit team.

About the Job

The A/D team requires an experienced and hands-on engineer. The development tasks involve the design of electronic prototype assemblies, tools, and systems. Your focus will be to understand the future needs of audio research and development engineers and enabling them with new and advanced signal processing capabilities.

As a self-motivated engineer you should be able to take on a reasonable number of tasks and drive them to completion, mostly on your own while you rely on occasional help from your colleagues. The candidate should be resilient with technical failure and be creative in finding ways to overcome such ‘normal’ setbacks.

The initial work focuses on the development of an ultra-low latency audio router to enable rapid prototyping of next generation noise processing and machine learning algorithms. You will continuously work with the audio research team to combine your work into acoustic prototypes. The work will involve aspects of driving and influencing suppliers to get the best performance out of their parts and designs. Requirements and architecture development is part of the work.
