SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Senior Analyst is responsible to manage, align and order the enterprise Data Warehouse models, Data ingestion and orchestration from variety of Data Sources and multiple Data formats against the business priorities, while coordinating the development of these requirements with the Data engineering team, Analytics team and overseeing the implementation of Data Warehouse solutions. Leads in collecting compliance evidence for SOX and/or HIPAA audits. Support the daily Operations on the modern cloud BI platform.

This position is 100% remote and can be performed anywhere in the U.S. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

  • Develops a deep familiarity with a variety of data sources including transactional databases, data warehouses, internal tools, and external integrations.
  • Specifies, analyzes, designs, implements and tests BI solutions to meet business needs.
  • Takes ownership of our data and constantly improve its quality and integrity; proactively identifying issues at every step and coordinating the implementation of required fixes.
  • Ability to understand Enterprise Data warehouse and datamart models and work closely with BI analytics team to help them understand the column mapping for reports.
  • Work with the necessary key stakeholders in Operating Groups and IT Business Partner teams to ensure enhancement/bug fixes needs to be addressed on priority.
  • Work with Operations teams to minimize the production issues/bug fixes to improve productivity
  • Assist in the development of data management policies, procedures, and corporate data strategy.
  • Monitor database system details within production systems, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Identify, refine, and develop key BI metrics, reporting, and dashboards for various business roles and functions.
  • Effectively implement and deliver multiple complex BI and Data management projects on time and on budget through a disciplined program management approach
  • Adhere to department goals, objectives, and operating procedures to drive continuous improvement on system stability and project delivery
  • Troubleshoot and update SQL routines as needed to account for changes in underlying data and needs of the business.
  • Communicate effectively with BI Manager and all users of information services and system
  • In the event an incident arises manage the remediation and long term plan to address
  • Ensures compliance with SOX processes and assists in the annual SOX audit.
  • Performs additional duties and activities as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or related required
  • Master’s level-education with a combination of technical and business background a plus.
  • 6+ years of Data warehouse design and data modeling experience in a fast-paced technology company and/or consulting.
  • 5 + years of experience analyzing and manipulating data from a variety of production systems and data platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills and five 5 + years RDBMS experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle, etc.)
  • 6 or more years of experience in development of ETLs using MS BI Stack.
  • Demonstrated technical competence with the latest technologies (Azure, Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Azure/AWS Cloud, Devops (ADO), Snowflake, Mobility & Security)

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Vendor certification (Azure Data Engineering, PowerBI certifications, Snowflake Certifications.) preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Expert with Azure Cloud Development infrastructure
  • Expert with Designing Azure DataLake Storage (Gen2), Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic App, Azure Analysis Services, Automation accounts, PowerShell, JSON and integrations with Azure resources.
  • Expert in understanding Data warehouse and Data mart models to implement reporting layer designs for enterprise self-service reporting
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Expert with SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Expert with Azure Data Factory working on various datasources and targets
  • Expert SQL, T-SQL and PL/SQL knowledge against a variety of databases like SQL Server, Oracle, Hyperion and Cache.
  • Expert with ETL tools like Kettle or Data stage is a plus
  • Experience with Hyperion and Kronos is a plus
  • Expertise Oracle and EBS with a concentration on HR
  • Should feel comfortable with relational design with high transaction databases
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, EasyVista or similar application preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Motivated self-directed, but with the ability to take direction from others.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills.
