As a member of our market research team, the Research Analyst will provide actionable intelligence to our leadership team and national/CPG/OTC/retail sales teams through a variety of internal and external data sources. The incumbent will provide key stakeholders with research consultation, implementation, backend analytics and interpretation of findings to make recommendations which meet advertiser and company objectives for print and digital offerings.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide research consultation and implementation to support direct mail and digital consumer programs, including designing innovative performance measurements
  • Utilizes direct marketing, CPG/OTC, and retail experiences to formulate creative research-related presentations, proposals, and recommendations
  • Coordinate and manage analytical and processing instructions for advertisers and corporate research projects
  • Acquire basic knowledge of database management including client, third party and syndicated supplied data
  • Perform custom research and provide related analytical and statistical support
  • Provide stakeholders with print and digital competitive insights such as pricing, product mix, distribution, etc.
  • Monitor market trends and analyze competitor online activities in the savings/coupon space to deliver recommendations for Company growth
  • Present findings in formal settings to Company leadership, sales staff, and advertisers
  • Perform related work and additional duties as needed or required

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, management, statics, quantitative methods, social sciences or other related field is desirable
  • A minimum of three years relevant quantitative marketing research experience is required, preferably in the CPG, OTC, or retail space
  • Direct marketing or ad sales experience in a media environment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of major third party suppliers of syndicated data and services such as Nielsen (PRIZM segmentation and Scarborough), Simmons Research, MRI, Esri (ArcGIS), WebTrends, and comScore is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • High degree of comfort with mathematical analyses
  • Ability to interface with sales channels, advertisers and all levels of management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Flexible, with the ability to manage concurrent projects
