JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Indirect Procurement to join our team in Abbott Park, IL . This role is responsible for leading procurement operations activities in Abbott’s US Procurement team. Works across divisions and categories to deliver procurement services to Abbott’s largest country. Leads a team of 20+ Procurement Managers and Sr. Specialists. Reports to the Sr Director Americas Procurement. Based in Lake County, IL.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Nurtures stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations
- Partners with regional and global category owners to implement an aligned One Procurement approach with internal and external stakeholders
- Leads the team to deliver on Procurement Operations KPIs
- Leads the team to achieve cost reduction and supplier diversity objectives
- Proactively identifies areas for process improvement, cost efficiencies, supplier consolidation and how to more effectively leverage supplier capabilities to benefit Abbott
- Considered a Procurement SME across categories. Expert in Abbott procurement process
- Lead initiatives including playing an active role in implementing technology and process improvements
- Responsible for people leadership. Recruit, mentor, train and develop talent. Responsible for overall morale of team and promotes cohesive attitude
- Signature authority and PO approvals up to $1,000,000
- Proactively identifies areas of leverage for new business opportunities, drive process improvement, and cost efficiencies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree, Advanced education preferred
- 8-10 years Procurement and /or deep Category experience.
- Sound problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to develop actionable implementation plans
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
- Experience with supplier relationship management
- Procurement process expertise
- Compelling negotiating skills
- Ability to lead people to achieve a common goal

$118,000.00 – $236,000.00
