For our Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) Headquarter in Basel we are looking for a:

Global Pricing Associate Director

Core Job Responsibilities:

Lead the development and drive the implementation of in-market pricing strategies in partnership with EPD affiliates.

Monitor price guidance and governance and propose necessary amendments.

Be a pricing expert on emerging market countries and share knowledge regarding key pricing development in these markets. Be able to communicate them including the potential impact for EPD business.

Strategy:

  • Lead the development and the implementation of pricing strategies for new products in cooperation with Market Access Therapeutic Leads.
  • Support the development of the launch sequences. Coordinate with assigned countries and other EPD functions to ensure that pricing and access are optimized.
  • Partners with regional and country representatives to ensure smooth transition and implementation of global pricing strategies to regions and countries
  • Lead the development of net prices strategies for in-market products.
  • Supports all product launches with competitor/market price analysis and international pricing rules to ensure product launches meet overall product and business gross profit goals
  • Drive price optimization initiatives to ensure that our prices (list and net) are aligned with the market environment and our product’s value proposition.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain pricing guidance in collaboration with regions and key countries.
  • Serve as co-chair of Global Pricing Committee.
  • Provide pricing input to brand plans

Analytics:

  • Analyze data and market trend to make informed pricing decision and use data-driven insights to adjust pricing strategies as necessary.
  • Lead development of pricing dashboards in collaboration with Insights, Advanced Analytics and IT departments.
  • Monitor the development of digital pricing and keep abreast of the upcoming technologic solutions.

Daily operations and IRP:

  • Lead the assessment of price changes on revenues and timing across markets
  • Provide endorsement of product price change proposal aligned with global pricing guidance and governance and any list and net price changes post-launch. Monitor implementation
  • International Reference Pricing Risk: Drive cross-country risk mitigation projects including identification and execution of mitigation measures by developing and reinforcing cross functional collaboration with other departments such as Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Operations.
  • Keep price approval SOP updated

Training and capability building:

  • Improve affiliates pricing capabilities by listening to their needs and providing continuous training on pricing skills
  • Enhances information exchange and best practice-sharing across regions and drives adoption of pricing resources and tools

Supervisory/ Management Responsibilities:

  • Strong influencing skills to engage global functions, regions and country management teams

Minimum Education:

Bachelor in business administration, economics, finance, or equivalent qualification.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • 5-8 years of related pharmaceutical experience is necessary with at least 5 years of direct experience in global pricing function.
  • Experience in a Matrix and complex environment is highly desirable
  • Successful track record in providing pricing expertise to achieve business results
  • Experience in the area of generics or brand generics
  • Awareness of the competitive landscape and market dynamics.
  • Deep understanding of IRP mechanisms
  • Strong understanding of Emerging Market’s pricing requirement for coverage/reimbursement
