The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA site in our Diabetes Care division. At Abbott Diabetes Care we’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Clinical Data Management Analyst you will be responsible for performing data management tasks within defined established processes throughout the life cycle of the study Including startup, conduct and reporting phases. This role is critical to the successful collection, reporting and analysis of clinical trial data.

What You’ll Work On

Assist in translation of clinical study requirements into trial Casebook.

Develop edit check specifications for the automated cleaning of data.

Conduct user acceptance testing of study databases, reports, study notifications and database customizations.

Develop study specific data listings.

Prepare and generate database snapshots for analysis.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in the identification of potential solutions.

Required Qualifications

3 years in clinical or medical or research setting.

Education and work experience in computer science, life sciences or technical field.

Knowledge of data collection best practices for clinical trials.

Knowledge of global clinical operations.

Intermediate therapy specific knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, therapy and device. Intermediate medical knowledge related to common medical histories, medical terminology, diagnostics (imaging, laboratory), and medications (class, dose, route).

Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Completes given projects on time, accountable for the project timelines.

Clearly communicates with management and peers,

Assumes responsibility for completing individual and team assignments and tasks.

Reliable attendance is required for this position.

Performs work using existing standards, methodologies and processes, investigates alternatives.

Learns new software and supports it.

Understands and applies procedures, practices and department standards to consistently produce error free results in a timely manner.

Completes project tasks within time and budget constraints.

Works under supervision of Clinical Data Manager or Senior Programmer.

Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and to determine if desired results have been achieved.

Risks associated with tasks extend to impact on a major study timeline.

The base pay for this position is

$72,100.00 – $144,100.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
