ABOUT THE R&D TECH CENTER

The R&D Tech center at Zwolle is responsible for all R&D activities related to the product, packaging, process, sensory, and flavoring for powder and liquid concepts produced at the plant Zwolle and/or at TPM locations. The concepts will be consumed by infants, children, the elderly, and all consumers in need of special nutrition. In general, these concepts do have high standards and guidelines to fulfill the needs of our consumers. The R&D tech center does have its own pilot plant, Lab, sensory and flavor area at the site. For our Research and Development team located in Zwolle, we are looking for a

R&D Developer Powder Products

Your main responsibility is to develop products, support/lead New product development projects and coordinate trials to include feasibility studies, project planning, and execution within the available resources.

In addition, the job’s responsibility is extended to coordinate a smooth transition to production, including the final verification of the commercial application. Execution of projects is generally done in close cooperation with Abbott HQ and the R&D department.

In general, the product developer is responsible for the development of either powder and/or liquid concepts from the idea phase until the first lot to stock (first commercial batch). This includes and is not limited to activities like the design of the bill of material, way working, process design, coordination of pilot plant trials, analyzes, plant trials, and first lot to stock, including all administration and deliverables needed during this NPD process. Besides the development process also, support and lead are needed in dedicated ingredient qualifications, dedicated Innovation, design-to-value programs, and QA compliance and EHS programs.

ABOUT YOU

• An expert or interested in growing into an expert in the development of powder concepts. This includes ingredient expertise, process expertise, and formulation expertise in nutritional and infant concepts.
• It is a plus if you already have at least 5 -10 years of experience in this area of concepts. We are looking for a colleague who likes to work within several multi teams with a structured way of working and the mindset to meet targets and deadlines.
• You are able to lead and dare to make decisions from the R&D perspective. Besides the NPD program, it is feasible to work on new innovations dedicated to powder concepts and developments related to the portfolio at the Zwolle production location. So, a creative mindset is needed to meet targets within the NPD program and initiate innovations.
