The Southern California (SoCal) Global Design Center is a One Boeing opportunity to engage across the business units and global design centers. The Boeing Global Services Avionics Systems Team is looking for a Manager to join this talented and fast paced team.

This first level manager position will build and lead the Avionics Engineering team that provide engineering solutions for the Global Services modifications business. Leader must be able to build and maintain relationships across the value stream, including peers in engineering, operations, supply chain and manufacturing. 

The manager of this team will start with a strong core of experienced engineers. In addition to managing current work statement, this position will grow the capability and capacity of the team by: building a talent pipeline, knowledge management, and networking with international partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle professional employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Avionics Engineering
  • Develop and complete project and process plans and set operational goals
  • Provide technical management of suppliers
  • Provide leadership and oversight of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Partner with international partners
  • Inspire the team forward on their Lean Journey
  • Most importantly, lead, develop and motivate employees

Export Control

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • 5 years of experience working on either electrical or electronic airplane components or systems
  • Willing to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in avionics design and analysis engineering
  • Experience supporting aircraft production, development, and/or sustainment program(s)
  • Experience working directly with Boeing customers and/or suppliers
  • Experience in FAA certification or airworthiness
  • Experience with Commercial Engineering, Mods and Maintenance (EMM) products

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option. (Long Beach, CA.)

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: 147,050 – 198,950
