About the Role: Legal Intern

The Team: The Legal Intern will be a member of S&P Global’s corporate and business division legal teams, which partner with commercial, product and business management by providing practical legal advice to mitigate risk and support enterprise goals and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Participate in contract drafting, review and negotiations.
  • Develop and enhance legal research and writing skills.
  • Assist with corporate filings.
  • Assist with managing litigation.
  • Participate in due diligence exercises.
  • Assist with any other legal matters or projects handled by the S&P Global Corporate Legal Department/Business Division Legal Departments. When appropriate, Interns will be asked to attend meetings with various legal and business stakeholders.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $20 to $30. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Juris Doctor program with a strong record of high academic achievement.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intellectual curiosity and detail oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research, writing and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to influence constituencies.
  • The ability to work in a deal-driven, collaborative work environment.
  • Experience with intellectual property or technology agreements is a plus.
